PUAHate (puahate.com, also written PUAhate) was an English forum founded in 2009 as a board to mock pickup-artist (PUA) gurus and the men who paid them. Academic and press accounts name the founder as a former Real Social Dynamics student going by Nicholaus (also Nicholas in some write-ups).[1][2] It is the P in PSL forums.
The joke ate the site. A subforum called Shitty Advice became the busiest room: looks theory, face ratings, rage at “game.” The Guardian (2014) called it a place for sexually frustrated men to vent and share theories about women, with a laissez-faire moderation policy.[2] It was not a self-identified “incel forum” in the later Incels.is sense, but the later dialect — blackpill, hunter-eyes talk, harsh ratings — is PUAHate-shaped.
Shutdown
Elliot Rodger posted on PUAHate and wrote about it in the document he left before the 23 May 2014 Isla Vista killings. Wikipedia’s Isla Vista article records that he used the board; the Guardian reported the same week.[2][3] 24 May 2014 the site went down. Users migrated within two days to SlutHate.
This encyclopedia records the closure as history of the looksmaxxing dialect. It does not treat Rodger as a scene saint and does not reproduce his document.
