Surgical pitfalls in looksmaxxing-era male work are patterned.[1] This page lists recurring failure modes.

Recurring failures

  • Wish-list surgery. Canthal tilt + wraparound jaw + LeFort + rhino + buccal in one trip. Swelling hides disaster until it does not.
  • Wrong order. Rhino on a recessed mandible; buccal fat before a cut that would have hollowed the face anyway.
  • Stock implants for a 3D problem. Chin implant only; gaps at the body; "discontinuous jaw."
  • Lid incisions for midface implants. Infraorbital implant → lower-lid retraction → more surgery.
  • Cannot-remove implants. Bone overgrowth around a wraparound (described in long public patient logs after Michael Yaremchuk-style jaws). Plan for the next decade, not the next selfie.
  • Mill tourism. High-volume Turkey medical tourism and similar: some excellent named surgeons, many broker-driven packages with no revision path when you are home.
  • Surgeon shopping by Instagram. Filters, borrowed B&As, no board certification, no hospital privileges.
  • Hardmax as a treatment for blackpill. A plate does not settle a verdict.

Soft-tissue failures (same pattern)

Overfilled jaws (jawline filler), Tyndall troughs, vascular occlusion from liquid rhino, threads billed as a deep plane facelift, a 9D facelift with no polymer or plane named.

Looksmax.org and similar boards circulate a small English-language circuit (Barry Eppley, Yaremchuk, later Ort, various rhinos and hair docs). Circulation is not a ranking of skill. Read revision diaries as well as hero B&As.

This wiki's view

Wish-list stacking and Instagram-only surgeon choice are how the list above happens. Named procedure, hospital privileges, a plan for removal or revision. Liquid rhino and unlicensed gel are in the dangerous-and-useless class with bonesmashing.
