Hollow cheeks are the mid-cheek valley under the malar eminence: the look looksmaxxing wants when it says “model hollow” or a clean ogee curve.[1] The anatomy is facial fat compartments (especially buccal and superficial medial cheek) over zygomatic bone. Leanness shows it. Buccal fat removal carves it. Age and a crash diet turn it into a wasted midface.
A 22-year-old hollow and a 40-year-old hollow are different faces. The surgery page already warns that buccal lipectomy is over-indicated in men who were going to get lean anyway.
Method
- Softmax — leanmaxxing / body fat until the ogee reads, then stop. See debloat for water, not fat.
- Surgery — buccal fat removal is medicine with an age tell. Fillers and fat grafting go the other way (restore, not hollow).
- Photo — lighting under the zygoma fakes a hollow. See photos.

Want the hollow from leanness, not from a pad excision you will regret when the malar fat drops. Do not chase a cadaver lid.
