Ramus
Ramus
Vertical ramus at the back of the mandible
Field Anatomy
Also known as mandibular ramus, ramus height

The ramus is the vertical rear of the mandible, from the angle up to the condyle.[1] Ramus height is a looksmaxxing side-profile flex: a tall ramus helps a low-set ear-to-jaw sweep. Short ramus, steep mandibular plane, and an obtuse gonial angle often travel together. You do not grow a ramus with gum. Distraction and osteotomy are surgery.
