Palate expansion widens the maxilla by opening the midpalatal suture with an appliance (RPE/RME in kids; MARPE/MSE in some older patients; SARPE when a surgeon assists).[1] It is orthodontic/surgical territory. Looksmaxxing treats it as a midface cheat code. Whether the suture will split is a CBCT staging question, not a thread vote. See cranial suture.
Complications and “am I a candidate” are for an orthodontist. Thumb-pulling on an expander is a scene controversy, not a method on this wiki.
