A looksmatch is a person the scene rates as about as attractive as you — “same level, looks-wise.”[1] On rating boards it is arithmetic: if the girl is a 7 and you are a 5, posters say find your looksmatch. The word does descriptive work (couples often pair near each other) and prescriptive work (“stay in your lane”).[2]
This wiki records the jargon. It is not a calculator. Assortative pairing is a real social pattern; a PSL scale decimal is not a marriage license.
How the boards use it
- Looksmatch — roughly equal rating.
- Looksmatched couple — a pair the thread will not call a mismatch.
- Overmatch — dating “up” (what the same boards call hypergamy when a woman does it).
- Undermatch — dating “down.”
- Out of your league — civilian English for the same claim.
Raters use PSL scale numbers, HTN/MTN/LTN labels, or a casual 1–10. Those scales do not agree with each other. A looksmatch on one thread is a mismatch on the next.
What it is not
It is not a clinical finding. Warmth, timing, status, and who is in the room still decide who dates whom. Treating a PSL gap as a moral law is blackpill sermon, not anthropometry. See Looksmaxxing Wiki:Point of view.
