The platysma is a broad, thin muscle sheet in the neck from the chest and shoulder toward the mandible.[1] Vertical platysmal bands and a “turkey neck” are this muscle plus skin and submental fat. A neck lift often plicates or divides it; a face-only lift that skips the neck leaves the tell.
