Facial thirds
Field Face
Also known as vertical thirds, trichion-glabella-subnasale-menton

Facial thirds divide the front of the face into three vertical zones that classical analysis wants roughly equal:[1]

  1. Hairline (trichion) → brow / glabellaforehead
  2. Brow → base of nose (subnasale) — middle third / midface
  3. Subnasale → chin (menton) — lower third (mandible, lips, chin)

Looksmaxxing uses this as a first pass: a huge forehead or a long midface “breaks thirds.” Hairline position and bangs cheat the upper third without surgery. The rule is a baseline, not a law — many rated faces are not 33/33/33.
