Sphenoid bone
Field Anatomy

The sphenoid is the keystone of the skull base: greater/lesser wings in the orbit, pterygoid plates behind the maxilla, body of the sella. Looksmaxxing meets it as spheno-occipital synchondrosis and as the pterygomaxillary junction that a LeFort I separates so the maxilla can be moved. You do not “sphenoidmaxx.”
