Midface

The midface is the middle of the face: roughly brows to the base of the nose, or pupils to upper lip — the boards do not use one formula. Bones: maxilla, nasal bones, zygomatic bone. Looksmaxxing treats a compact (short, projected) midface as youthful and a long midface as a hard failo.[1]
Ratios (incompatible on purpose)
Common scene recipes, not interchangeable:
- Interpupillary distance ÷ pupil-to-upper-lip height (compact if the width number is relatively large).
- Midface length as a share of total face height.
- Classical middle third (glabella to subnasale) vs the other thirds.
Rating apps pick a cutoff and sell it. Clinical analysis still uses thirds/fifths, not a single “midface score.”[1] IPD is orbital spacing; you do not mew it narrower.
Softmax vs bone
Beard weight, a shorter philtrum in photos, hair off the forehead (makes the whole face longer, so the midface is a smaller share), and leanness change the reading. Moving the maxilla is bimaxillary osteotomy / palate expansion territory.
