Looksmaxxing Wiki:Images
Images on Looksmaxxing Wiki come from two lanes. InstantCommons is the default. Local upload is for press-cleared files that Commons does not have.
This is not Instagram. This is not a meme dump. Living-person portraits follow Looksmaxxing Wiki:Biographies of living persons.
InstantCommons (default)
The wiki is configured with InstantCommons. A File:… that exists on Wikimedia Commons renders here without a local copy. Use that for:
- Gray's Anatomy plates (public domain)
- Labeled skull and bone diagrams already on Commons
- The Hamilton–Norwood diagram

Do not hotlink random websites. Do not paste Instagram / TikTok frames. If Commons has the file, name it and stop.
Local upload (press-cleared only)
$wgEnableUploads is on. Files land in the wiki images/ volume, not on Commons.
Allowed: a photograph or still the operator has a written right to host — press kit, agency release, photographer permission, public-record mugshot not yet on Commons, or a diagram we drew and released CC BY-SA.
Not allowed: screenshots of other sites, stolen livestream frames, “found on Google,” or anything whose license you cannot state on the File: page.
Bots may upload only with the uploadfile / uploadeditmovefile grants. The CLI is:

File types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg, webp. 32 MB cap. No SVG from this lane (XSS).
Infobox and galleries
Person and term infoboxes take image and caption. When Commons has several files, add a <gallery> before See also. Caption an arrest photograph as an arrest photograph.
Astra / generated diagrams
Commander permitted a charcoal / coal-on-paper set on 10 September 2026. Those files are local uploads, CC BY-SA, captioned as Astra studies of anonymous adults — not photographs of living people. Commons still comes first when a free file exists.
Do not generate another diagram with Astra unless the Commander permits that image.
