A beard is facial hair used as a jaw and cheek tool, or as a style.[1] Looksmaxxing treats it as optional softmaxxing: it can hide a weak chin, it can also hide a good one, and patchy growth photographs as neglect. Shape beats density. Neckline and cheek line are the actual work.

Not a substitute for body fat in the face. A beard on a high-fat neck is still a high-fat neck.
