Riedel's line is a profile tangent that glances the most projecting point of the lips (or, in some statements, the nose) and asks whether the chin reaches it.[1] Looksmaxxing cephalometric talk uses it as a quick “does the chin show up in side view” check. A chin behind the line is called weak; surgery talk then jumps to sliding genioplasty or an implant.
It is a line on a photograph, not a diagnosis. Lighting, lip posture, and body fat move it. See pogonion and chin.
