Facial filler is injected volume under the skin.[1] In looksmaxxing it is used on jawline, chin, cheeks, tear trough, and nasolabial fold. It is medicine. It does not grow a ramus or move a maxilla.

Kinds and sites are listed below. Overfill is a documented failure mode: pillow cheeks, a shelf along the mandible, trout-mouth lips, Tyndall-blue tear troughs.

Families

Kind What it is Typical fade
Hyaluronic acid filler (HA) Gel that binds water. Reversible with hyaluronidase. months–2 years by product and site
Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA, Radiesse) Microspheres in gel; some biostimulation. Not an HA. Not dissolved by hyaluronidase. ~12–18 months
PLLA (Sculptra) Biostimulator; collagen over months, not instant gel. staged; effect 1–2 years
PMMA filler (Bellafill and kin) Permanent microspheres. Revision is surgery. lasting
Fat grafting Your fat, harvested and placed. Take is unpredictable. partial survival

Off-label mixing, “liquid rhino,” and unlicensed gel are how people lose a nose or an eye. See vascular occlusion and surgical pitfalls.

Sites

Limits

Filler does not move bone, fix a recessed maxilla, or replace a deep plane facelift when the problem is descent. It does not hide a high-body fat neck. Off-label “liquid rhinoplasty” on a thick male dorsum is a volume blob with a documented vascular occlusion / blindness pathway — that class of harm belongs in the body of the article, not only at the end.

This wiki's view

Use filler for volume that is missing. Use hitch or surgery for tissue that has dropped (see nasolabial fold, jowl). Stiff gel along a jaw can photograph like an implant and will not behave like one in motion or after weight change. Permanent gels (PMMA filler, industrial silicone) are a different risk class than HA.
